Eligo ergo sum- Theme selection

The initial concern was how to interpret and display music visually. A decision was
made to centre the project on one song. The song was chosen  randomly and for no
conscious reason. Knee Play 1 is a song from the
Philip Glass and Robert Wilson
opera
Einstein on the Beach (1976).

Cogito ergo sum: Immersion

The
5 Knee Play songs were intended as solfege placeholders separating the 9 main
scenes within a libretto which has no narrative structure. The opera was conceived as
a series of vignettes to offer points of departure for the audience to form their own
concept of
Einstein. Knee Play 1 opens the opera.

Creo ergo sum: Emergence

There is a close interdependence between Immersion and Emergence. They feed off
each other and provide the momentum for the project. The purpose was to develop
visual representations at the same time as the analytical process. Wherever possible
to combine them ab initio.
